A small dump of what music I've been listening to

#music

My music listening tastes tend to consist of discovering new music, playing it on repeat for a week or two, then moving onto the next thing. In these occasional dumps, I'll go over what I've been listening to. I will try to focus on the different genres and styles, but sometimes I'm just listening to a lot of the same kind of stuff 🤷‍♂️

I try to highlight some of the smaller, lesser known artists

Mirror – HoneyComeBear

I recently discovered HoneyComeBear when their song Achillea popped up on my YouTube recommended list, and I fell in love immediately. The combination of absolutely beautiful vocals (of which I can't understand most of) with the future bass/pop style, this duo has found a permanent place in my playlists. Mirror, in particular, seems reminiscent of The Chain Smokers. Check out their official website!

Void Walker – Ghost Data

I've been following Ghost Data for about a year now, and every release gets better and better. Ghost Data's signature sound is an ambient “dreamsynth” characterized by progressive synths and heavy hitting bass. Their latest album, Cruel Choreography dropped earlier this month, but I'm listening to my favorite song from the last album. It definitely has nothing to do with my recently upgraded subwoofer.

All For You (Feat. Kiesza) – Rynx

Don't let the album art fool you, this is another future bass track. My roommate sent me this track a few weeks ago, knowing it would be right up my alley. He wasn't wrong! I don't have much to say about Rynx, as this is the only song by them I have listened to so far. Maybe we'll see more of their stuff in the future?

詠奏妖華~明鏡止水~ – EastNewSound

A much older track, born from the worldwide phenomena that is Touhou, Eisou Youga Meikyou Shisui (詠奏妖華~明鏡止水~) features the vocals of Chata (茶太) and is one of my longstanding favorite songs of all time. I first learned about of it from the circle clicking game Osu!, on which I have several hundred plays of this song (of varying difficulties). Despite my normal music listening habits, this is one that always seems to make it's way into my daily playlists, and has for nearly 7 years.

The Wolf – SIAMES

More of an indie pop/rock track, The Wolf is less of just a song and more of audio-visual story, be sure to watch the video!

Empty Crown – Yas

A very laid back and chilled out track, Empty Crown seems to tell the a sad story of loss. But don't let that get you down, it's still a fantastic track worthy of any “studying” playlist.

That's it for now!
